CSA apprentice gains merit and wins Northumberland County Council Apprentice of the Year award

08 March 2021   (0 Comments)

Laura Elliott, an apprentice regulatory compliance officer at Northumberland County Council, has been awarded a merit in the End Point Assessment of the Credit Services Association (CSA) Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship. Shortly after receiving her results, Laura also won the ‘Advanced’ category at the Northumberland County Council Apprentice of the Year Awards. Her mentor Laura Southwell also won an award for mentoring the apprenticeship.

CSA, the UK trade body for the collections and debt purchase sectors, became an Approved Apprenticeship Training Provider in 2017 when the Apprenticeship Levy was introduced. Since then, it has used both its industry and learning and development (L&D) expertise to deliver apprenticeship standards in Credit Control, Advanced Credit, Compliance Risk, Regulatory Compliance, and Counter Fraud Investigation for employers and their learners at all levels in the public and private sectors, including 40 Local Authorities. In 2020, despite the Coronavirus pandemic, 74 of its apprentices successfully completed and passed their apprenticeships.

Laura Southwell, Trading Standards Officer at Northumberland County Council, who mentored to two CSA apprentices said:

“I want to convey my sincere thanks to the CSA apprenticeships team for their hard work and support in encouraging Laura to reach her potential through the apprenticeship process. It has been a pleasure to work with them as part of her learning journey.”

CSA apprenticeship tutor Fiona Friebel, said:

“I am delighted with the results for Laura. She has worked hard throughout the apprenticeship despite facing challenges. I am confident that the Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship will provide her with a solid foundation on which to build a successful career pathway in this vital area.”

The next cohort of CSA Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer apprentices is due to start on 22 March 2021 and there is still time for employers to enrol their staff members on to it. To find out more about CSA apprenticeships, visit: www.csa-uk.com/page/apprenticeships.
