Credit Services Association

The voice of the collections industry

Who we are

The CSA is the trade association for the debt collection and the debt purchase industry. Our aim is to promote best practice and build confidence in the debt collection and debt purchase industry with customers, government and regulators – creating a sustainable future for the industry and focusing on three primary roles:

Engage

Representing members at the highest level with external stakeholders to highlight the work of members, to enhance the reputation of the industry, and to lobby for appropriate and proportionate regulation.

Promote

Promoting excellence and integrity in standards and culture across the industry.

Support

Facilitating a collaborative environment to share best practice for further improvement and ongoing professionalism of the industry.

Our advocacy work

We publish a range of reports and discussion papers on the topics and issues facing our members, businesses, consumers and the wider financial services sector. Each report varies in output, providing education and guidance, promoting further dialogue, or offering a set of recommendations for consideration.

Signposting for customers who have language barriers

This project explored how language affects engagement in the debt landscape, with a particular focus on how it influences a firm's ability to signpost customers to free debt advice, and a consumer's ability to access that support.
