Trade body for debt collection industry wins Skills Development Award at Best Practice Awards

10 July 2019

The Credit Services Association (CSA), the voice of the UK debt collection and debt purchase industry, has been recognised with a Skills Development Award by the Trade Association Forum (TAF) at its Best Practice Awards 2019.

The achievement follows an impressive twelve months for the trade association. A main provider on the Register of Apprenticeships Training Providers (RoATP) since May 2017, the CSA demonstrated to the judges an investment in skills development that reflects its strategy to be at the forefront of developing the next generation of credit and collection professionals. It was also recognised for raising the profile and credibility of the Association and its members, and further improving standards across the industry.

Fiona Macaskill, Head of Learning and Development at the CSA, said the award provides recognition for the Association’s commitment to skills development: “We are very proud to have won this award, and be recognised for our focus on Apprenticeships and Learning and Development.

“Part of our strategy for the next 10 years is to be seen as the ‘go-to’ training provider in key areas such as Compliance and Risk, and Credit Control and Collections, and becoming a main provider on RoATP was a key component. The Apprenticeships have proven very popular with CSA membership but what has been particularly gratifying is how they have appealed to a diverse range of organisations across the wider financial services community including regulatory and Government bodies and a number of local authorities.

“We have also completely overhauled our Learning and Development offering, revamping and revising our qualifications, as well as further evolving our new e-Learning package ‘CSA Compliance Essentials’.  We are determined to build on this and continue to support the development of all collection professionals across the industry.”

TAF’s Best Practice Award winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the County Hall in London on 9 July.
