CSA Cyber Essentials certification renewed
21 January 2022
The CSA has successfully renewed its basic certification under the Cyber Essentials scheme. Cyber Essentials aims to help organisations implement basic levels of protection against cyber attack, demonstrating to their customers that they take cyber
security seriously. Cyber Essentials is an independently verified self-assessment, where organisations assess themselves against five basic security controls and a qualified assessor verifies the information provided. These five basic controls, when properly
implemented, help to protect against unskilled internet based attackers using commodity capabilities – which are freely available on the internet. Cyber Essentials is a minimum requirement for bidding for some government
contracts. The CSA also attained Cyber Essentials Plus certification in March 2021 and aims to renew this in the coming months. Cyber Essentials Plus is an audited version of the basic standard and involves a series of tests that provide a further level of assurance that the technical and procedural controls required to mitigate common internet-borne cyber attacks have been successfully implemented.
