To apply for CSA Membership your business must in some way be involved in debt servicing (either consumer or business to business):

  • Overdue Accounts
  • Repossessions
  • Consultancy/Advice/Training
  • Status Enquiries
  • Card Recovery
  • Credit Insurance
  • Tracing Enquiries
  • International Collections

There are four main categories of membership:

Full – Companies where any or a combination of the above is the primary source of revenue for the company. To apply for full membership you MUST have a minimum of two years trading accounts.

Associate – is similar to full membership in that any combination of the above is the primary source of revenue for the company, BUT you have less than 2 years trading history with only 1 full year’s accounts.

Affiliate – Companies where debt servicing (see above for a more comprehensive list) is NOT the main source of revenue. Companies that fall into this category could be accountants, banks and building societies etc. In actuality affiliate membership incorporates all businesses that carry out the function of debt collection as a secondary activity in relation to their everyday business enterprise – and have been doing so for at least one year.

Overseas – Like Full/Associate members, debt collection is the primary source of revenue, but the company is registered in a country outside the UK and has been trading for two years.
