The Credit Services Association (CSA)
Lord Chandos appointed as independent director
The CSA has appointed Lord Chandos of Aldershot as an independent director to bring additional rigour to the governance of the Association, and impartial guidance and expertise to the chief executive officer and members of the Board.
He will specifically be engaged in contributing to the development of the CSA’s strategic, public and regulatory affairs, and to act an independent voice and final adjudicator in disputes and complaints raised by customers against Members.
Tom Chandos started his career in investment banking, where he worked particularly with clients from both the media and financial services sector. He is currently chairman of two listed companies in the real estate sector, as well as of a number of private companies and
not-for-profit organisations. He is a past board member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA).
Leigh Berkley, president of the CSA, says that Tom’s experience will help further enhance the Association’s profile within the government: “At a time of increased regulation, and with the challenges of the proposed new Regulation on Data Protection, it is even more important
that the voice of our Members is heard and it’s vital importance to the UK economy is better understood,” he said.
“Tom’s experience within the House, the media industry and his broad business expertise will all prove invaluable both now and in the future.”
