CSA Members reminded to be vigilant of online scams
CSA Members are again being reminded to be on their guard against any potential scams or fraudulent activity online.
A CSA Member has contacted the association regarding a recent communication that they had received through the social media platform LinkedIn.
The fraudster had hacked another LinkedIn user’s account, and contacted the Member in an attempt to collect a debt from a company. The debt was very large, and fake invoices and purchase orders were also used in the communication.
The CSA Member discovered that this was indeed a fraudulent communication, and contacted the association in order to warn other Members.
CSA Members are reminded that if they are approached by suspected scammers, they should take the necessary steps and contact their local trading standards office.
